- Year 6 Trip to Central Gurdwara Temple09:15 - 15:00Event Name: School Visit booking About your school visiting the Gurdwara You should allow around 2 hours for the visit. The school visit consists of : * Going into the prayer hall and experience typical worship activities * A presentation/talk on the Sikh faith and historical information about the Gurdwara, with time for questions * Going into the langar hall for a simple vegetarian meal/snack Gurdwara protocols/decorum * Wear respectful clothing * Cloth head covering for the duration of the visit (scarf, bandana or similar - the Gurdwara can provide these) * Remove shoes on entry and wash hands - there is a shoe area to store your shoes and washbasins * No smoking or drinking (please also refrain from smoking or drinking before the visit) * Inside the prayer hall, please avoid pointing your feet towards the Guru Granth Sahib ji. * Own snacks/packed lunch - your own snacks and food are allowed within the langar hall provided they are vegetarian (no meat, egg, fish or alcohol). Donations We do not charge for the visit, however, we appreciate any donation your school is able to make towards this. As a guide, most schools who donate, make a donation of between £80-100.
