Lunchtime

SCHOOL LUNCHES

Clapham Manor is fortunate to have a superb chef who prepares our meals freshly each day; we offer three choices of main course (one vegetarian) and an exciting choice of vegetables and salads. We encourage children to have a hot school lunch. Please remember that we do not have cool storage for packed lunches.

Payments

Currently there are no charges to school lunches, as per the Mayor of London free school meal grant for all primary school aged children.

Absences/Lateness

A careful control of children’s absences is carried out every day, which means we can inform the kitchen of the exact number of dinners required, limiting the wastage of food. It is important, therefore, that if your child is not in school in the morning but will be coming for lunch, the office is informed before 10 o’clock, so that a meal is ordered for him/her. If the office is not informed, we cannot guarantee a school meal.

Changes From School Dinner To Packed Lunch

Changes from one to the other create ordering problems for the kitchen, so this can only be made termly please contact the school office.

However for some unforeseeable circumstance, your child has to change his or her dinner arrangements, this must be done in WRITING and agreed with the office, otherwise payment must be made for the dinners, as the school will be ordering the meals and therefore be charged for them.

Arrears

Contacting parents for non-payment of school dinners puts an enormous administrative burden on the school. If payment for school meals taken has not been received after two weeks, you will be asked to provide your child with a packed lunch until full payment has been received.
